2019년 시작된 큐레토리얼 이니셔티브 WESS의 새로운 공간, WESS+가 2026년 9월 12일 충신동에 문을 엽니다.
WESS+는 빠르게 열리고 닫히는 전시의 흐름 속에서, 하나의 프로젝트가 충분한 시간을 두고 준비되고 전시 이후에도 질문과 대화가 이어질 수 있는 환경을 고민하며 시작되었습니다. 공간을 사용하는 데 필요한 대관료와 운영 조건을 투명하게 공개하고, 창작자와 협업자가 보다 지속적으로 활동할 수 있는 방식을 함께 모색하고자 합니다. 최소 2년간 운영되는 임시적이고 실험적인 공간으로, 전시 뿐 아니라 리서치와 모임 등 다양한 활동에 열려 있습니다. 오픈하우스에서는 WESS+의 공간과 운영 방향을 소개합니다. 즐겁게 오셔서 앞으로 WESS+에서 할 수 있는 일들을 함께 상상하고 이야기 나눠주세요.

On Sept. 12, 2026, WESS—the curatorial initiative founded in 2019—will open a new space in Chungsin-dong: WESS+.
WESS+ began with a question: how might a project be given sufficient time to develop, and how might its questions and conversations continue after an exhibition has ended, amid the rapid cycle of exhibitions opening and closing? By making rental fees and operational conditions transparent, WESS+ seeks to explore more sustainable ways for artists, curators, and collaborators to work together. Conceived as a temporary and experimental space operating for a minimum of two years, WESS+ is open not only to exhibitions but also to research, gatherings, and a range of other events and practices.
The open house will introduce the space and the direction of WESS+. We warmly invite you to visit, imagine what WESS+ might become, and join us in conversation about what can take place here.
